Our Mission & Vision
Our Mission
The Mission of the Windsor C-1 School District is to inspire all students to develop a vision within themselves and become contributing members of society, by providing excellent educational opportunities founded on the fundamentals of a caring family, school and community.
Our Vision
The Windsor C-1 School District is one in which all stakeholders work collaboratively to be academic leaders in an atmosphere of mutual respect. It is a true learning community where everyone strives to improve our academic excellence through progressive curriculum and instructional practice. The schools of our district exhibit high standards, with the needs of our students as the top priority.

We feel as though this work is so vital to the Windsor School District that last year we (our community) evaluated our core values and created a new logo, vision, and mission statement based on that reflection. Our district logo is rich with our history with emphasis on our core values. The logo’s foundation is the helm of a boat, called the Windsor, that descended into our local waters. The six handles represent our core values: respect, integrity, leadership, kindness, responsibility, and cooperation. Within the helm, our Windsor Way and our mascot are both represented. The waves represent the Mississippi River on where our district stands. Of course, all highlighted in our BROWN and GOLD.
Cooperation, kindness, integrity, respect, responsibility and leadership – these core values were selected by students, staff, parents, and community to redefine The Windsor Way in 2018. By embracing the new core values, now a movement, district leadership invested time, talent, and treasure into supporting character education. A new mission statement, “Connecting students to their future: the Windsor Way” led to a new branding.
This incorporated symbolism of our core values, direction, mascot, location and of course, the Windsor Way. The journey has been long, but step by step, you can see the fruits of Windsor C-1 School District’s labors as its schools, staff members, and students have been recognized with honors. The students self-proclaimed lifestyle of service learning demonstrates how the character education has evolved more than ever imagined.

On behalf of myself and the Windsor C-1 Board of Education, it has been imperative to align our school district with the core values and characteristic traits that our school and community believe vital to the youth that we so diligently serve. Taking a measured and long-term approach in order to identify and define those values, along with the collaboration of our valued stakeholders has been a rewarding and fulfilling journey that we believe has unlimited potential without an expiration. This path of continual growth and development will guide our students and our district as we continue to provide optimal opportunity for their success; this also guides our Board of Education with each decision made.
– Dr. Joel B. Holland, Superintendent
We have a responsibility to show respect to ourselves and others. With kindness, we have the power to brighten our school and community. We possess the integrity so we can not only do what we want, but to do what is right, even when no one is watching. By instilling leadership and cooperation, we are changing the world:
